AP Reorganisation Bill passed in Lok Sabha
Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Trinamool Congress Biju Janata Dal and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen opposed the Bill calling it a violation of Constitution.

New Delhi: Amidst chaos and chanting of 'Jai Telangana', Lok Sabha on Friday passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh had introduced the Bill with its component on the Polavaram project amidst uproar.

Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Trinamool Congress Biju Janata Dal and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen opposed the Bill calling it a violation of Constitution. Government, however, managed to had ordered its MPs to attend

Congress leader Veerappa Moily said, "A very bad precedent set by the way AP Reorganisation Bill was passed in the House. Speaker should not have shown so much haste."

The House was soon adjourned till 2pm after it passed the Bill.

After getting a clearance from Lok Sabha, the Bill would now be moved to Rajya Sabha.
