Atwal disappoints on final day, finishes 68th
Arjun Atwal finished 68th at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club.

Akron: Arjun Atwal carded six-over 76 in his error-filled final round that to finish 68th at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club here.

Atwal finished at eight-over 288 for the week.

Adam Scott played superb golf in the final round to win his first WGC title. The 31-year-old Australian shot a bogey-free 65 to finish at 17-under, four clear of Luke Donald and Rickie Fowler.

At various stages, Scott was caught up by fellow Australian Jason Day and then by Japanese teenager Ryo Ishikawa on three separate occasions over the front nine, but he was upto the challenge each time.

Scott's biggest win of his career came with Steve Williams as his caddie. Williams was with Tiger Woods for nearly 10 years when the American won the WGC at Akron seven times before he was fired last month.

World Number One Donald and American youngster Rickie Fowler each completed their final round in 66 strokes, and finished in a tie for second.
