CHENNAI: Higher Education Minister P Palaniappan on Tuesday said that the students of all the five Anna Universities of Technology (AUTs) would be issued certificates in the name of Anna University, Chennai.Intervening the discussion on the demands for grants for his department in the State Assembly, the Minister said already, uniform examinations have been conducted for the students all five AUTs and the forthcoming examinations for second semester to sixth semester would be conducted by the Anna University, Chennai. The Minister said the glory of Anna University would be protected.The government would take action on the reports of the committee headed by senior IAS officer Sheela Balakrishnan, set up for monitoring the merger of the five Anna Universities of Technology with the parent Anna University in Chennai as well as the sub-committee. The committees had assessed the properties, assets and liabilities of AUTs and deployment of teaching and non-teaching staff working with them.
