Baba Siddique Murder: BJP Leader Advises Salman Khan to Apologise to Bishnoi Community

Two days after NCP leader Baba Siddique was murdered on the streets of Mumbai allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, BJP leader and former MP Harnath Singh Yadav advised Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to apologise to the Bishnoi community for his “mistake”. In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav said, “Dear Salman Khan, the Bishnoi community worships the blackbuck as a deity and you hunted the same deer, cooked it, and ate it, which hurt the sentiments of the Bishnoi community. Because of this, the Bishnoi community has been angry with you for a long time.”

“Humans make mistakes. You are a big actor; the country’s people love you very much. My advice to you is to respect the sentiments of the Bishnoi community and apologise to them for your big mistake,” Yadav further said in his post.

Salman Khan has been considered a target by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and also received death threats from them. Earlier this year, some gang members were even apprehended by the police for firing shots outside Khan’s house in Mumbai.

So far, three members have been arrested from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for the murder of Baba Siddiqui on Saturday night. The third arrest was made in Pune when Praveen Lonkar, brother of gang member Shubham Lonkar, took responsibility for the murder by posting on Facebook.

The previous two accused, Gurmel Baljit Singh alias Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Singh alias Dharamraj Rajesh Kashyap, were arrested soon after Siddique’s murder. The police suspect that Praveen was one of those who involved Shubham Lonkar in the conspiracy along with Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam.

NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Bandra East on Saturday night. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital but doctors declared him dead. The investigation in this case revealed that the attackers were already scouting the surrounding area 25-30 days before the attack.
