Baby rescued, woman held

CHENNAI: Three days after a woman abducted an eightmonth- old boy, police rescued the victim and arrested the kidnapper at Mahakavi Bharathi Nagar.The accused, S Teresa of MKB Nagar, abandoned the child R Sanjay at her aunt’s house on Wednesday evening after she learnt that the police were on her heels. However, they nabbed Teresa from a hideout in MKB Nagar on Wednesday night.She was booked on charges of kidnapping a minor child for begging (Section 363-A of IPC). Produced before a magistrate court in the city, she was later sent to the Institute of Mental Health Hospital in Ayanavaram for observation.
