The chaos was more due to curious onlookers than the actual damage.

Bangalore: Hit by serial bomb blasts, India's IT hub was on Friday a picture of contrast - chaos and traffic jam at the affected places and other spots seeing the usual buzz.

The chaos was more due to hundreds of people gathering to find out what had happened rather than the damage caused by the low-intensity blasts.

Schools, shops and private firms in the blast hit areas shut for the day and traffic began to pile up. The surging crowds hampered police efforts to look for clues.

Leading IT firms like Wipro and Infosys, which have offices on Hosur Road, advised their staff to go home immediately but said the work schedule for Saturday will not change.

Most roads in the city were chock-a-block as the evening rush hour approached and office goers began returning home.

Police erecting barricades to check vehicles randomly worsened the situation.

Most of the mobile networks went off the air and landlines were jammed as people called up family, friends and colleagues to alert one another about the blasts.

What's your reaction?
