New Delhi: 'Aks' demonstrated that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has a different style of storytelling but success remained elusive to him till 'Rang De Basanti'.
His next film 'Delhi 6' divided the audience into two clearly demarcated arenas, one who were in favour of the film and the others. From songs to art direction, 'Delhi 6' catered to 'no so mainstream' sensibilities.
The director is back with his latest offering 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. It's a biopic on legendary athlete Milkha Singh, who showed the way to many poor-yet-ambitious players of rural India. Mehra is also going to showcase the pain of partition and what it means to chase your dreams in a society that is still very hostile towards sports other than cricket.
The trailers of the film have generated a good buzz and the audience seems to be eagerly awaiting the film but the real test will happen at the box-office where it will have to a perfect blend of entertainment as well as documentation.
In recent times, we have seen many hugely publicised films doing average business, so 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' needs to capture the attention of both mass and class.
