KOCHI: It’s time to catch up with some enthralling moments of classical dance forms. A bharatanatyam recital by Shyamjith Kiran and Viraja Arvind Mandhre will be held at 6 45 pm on July 3 at Kerala Fine Arts Hall under the aegis of Society Dharani.Shyamjith and Viraja learnt the nuances of bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra, Chennai. They are embarking on their maiden voyage as a dancer duo. Their production brings together the works of the finest of masters from across various disciplines, in the format of a margam comprising five pieces — Ganesha Stuti, Varnam, Padam, Keerthanam and Thillana. The orchestral accompaniments for the production include a string section with violins, violas and cellos besides the traditional mridangam, flute and veena. The duo are presently based in Singapore and Shyamjith is imparting the essence of the dance form to students in Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore.
