Bid to usurp sold land, 3 siblings held

NAMAKKAL: The anti-land grab special cell personnel have arrested three brothers on the charge of encroaching upon a three-acre agricultural land near Rasipuram which they had sold to Rajambal, a resident of Vadugham near Rasipuram.According to police, K Mani, his brothers Mayavan and Ayyanar were arrested on Monday for encroaching upon a three-acre farmland, of Rajambal.The complainant Rajambal had purchased three acres of land from three persons, including Ayuthiammal, mother of the three accused, in 1997 at Chandrasekarapuram. All of them, had left the area after selling their land. But, four years back, Ayuthiammal and her family returned to the area and encroached upon the land, the officer said.Rajambal had filed a police complaint, but no action was taken. After the anti-land grab special cell was formed, she again filed a complaint and an FIR was filed on July 18.A police team investigated the complaint and arrested the trio on Monday. They were produced before the Rasipuram Judicial Magistrate Court and were remanded to judicial custody, a police officer told Express on Monday.
