Bills: Talks with contractors on 22nd

BANGALORE: BBMP Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda is meeting members of BBMP Contractors Association on January 23  to discuss the settlement of their long pending bills.More than 2,000 contractors have undertaken several development works. It can be recalled here that the contractors had staged a protest last week demanding BBMP  to clear their bills. However, they resumed work from January 17 after the Commissioner assured to clear the dues at the earliest. The Commissioner, however, denied that he had promised to pay Rs 260 crore to them. But he said that at present there are no sufficient funds to pay their bills. “We are mobilising the funds and it is expected that at least Rs 200 crore will be paid,” he added
