Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh MLA Mukhtar Ansari on Monday alleged that some senior BJP leaders and an IPS officer had hatched a conspiracy to kill him inside the state assembly premises by hired killers.
As soon as the Assembly started in the morning, Ansari alleged that some hired killers had tried to kill him inside the Vidhan Bhavan premises.
Though Ansari is currently in jail in connection with the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, he was permitted by the court to attend the session.
Ansari said that a criminal Raju Tewari, who was recently apprehended by the Varanasi police, was part of the conspiracy to kill him.
Hired killers had gained entry into the Assembly premises and even entered the office of the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Khan but could not somehow execute their plan, the independent MLA claimed.
Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has announced that the matter will be investigated by the state police Special Task Force.
