KILIMANOOR: Eleven DYFI activists were rounded up by the police on Monday evening for waving black flags at Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, when he arrived for the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Raja Ravi Varma Memorial here. They were protesting against the raising of retirement age of government employees. Activists were innocuously positioned among those assembled in the audience and the Chief Minister was targeted easily. Cops swung into action and a scuffle broke out with the cadre. Three cops, including Mangalapuram SI Sreekumar, were hurt in the melee. The cops have been admitted to the government hospital here. Chandy laid the foundation-stone later, in the presence of CPM MLA B Satyan.
