PIRAVOM: Surprisingly, R Selvaraj’s resignation has come as a respite for the LDF camp in Piravom. With the LDF losing one crucial seat in the Assembly, now it is not necessary for UDF candidate Anoop Jacob to win for sustaining the Oommen Chandy government. “Till now people in Piravom were in a dilemma. Many of them wanted to vote for M J Jacob. However, they were forced to consider Anoop as the government could fall if he loses,” CPM loyalists said. But as there is no threat now, most of them have no confusion over exercising their franchise in favour of M J Jacob, they said.
