Los Angeles: Actor Bradley Cooper is set to take on the lead role of Napoleon Solo in the film 'The Man From UNCLE'.

The 'Hangover' star is now the top choice for Steven Soderbergh's adaptation of the classic spy TV series after George Clooney dropped out of the movie, reported Aceshowbiz.

The show ran for 105 episodes between 1964 and 1968 and told the tale of suave Solo, a man who worked for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement (UNCLE) against the Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity (THRUSH).

'The Man from UNCLE' originally starred Robert Vaughn. Scott Z Burns, who worked with Soderbergh on 'Contagion', has written the script for the movie.

"I think we can do some really cool stuff, shooting those cars and that fashion and that aesthetic with today's cameras and technology," Burns said.
