HYDERABAD: A British delegation under the chairmanship of UK MP Jeremy Browne called on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Assembly and expressed interest to establish a British Deputy High Commissionerate at Hyderabad. The chief minister assured all cooperation from the government. Browne, the minister for state for foreign affairs, said he was delighted about the growing links with Andhra Pradesh in trade, investment, education and research. He said his country was keen to bring a high-level delegation to the Convention on Bio-Diversity to be hosted in October. Browne said he was pleased to see UK companies like BP, HSBC and 3i investing in AP and also wanted companies like Dr Reddy’s Laboratories investing in the UK. He also referred to the academic partnerships that University of Cambridge and others have with city institutions. Mike Nithavrianakis, British deputy high commissioner in southern India was present.
