THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet has given the administrative sanction for a Rs 9.18-crore project of the Kerala State Urban Development Project (KSUDP) for renovating the Pazhavangadi canal and drainage system at Thampanoor area, informed Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Wednesday.Clearing the drainage system and the canal is an exercise ahead of the monsoon. The Thampanoor area becomes flood-prone during the rains, as the drainage system in the low-lying area remains clogged most of the time. The project is envisaged as a package scheme under the KSUDP, the Chief Minister said.
