HYDERABAD: The first-ever Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 to identify people living below poverty line (BPL) would be undertaken by the state government in urban areas from September 26 till November 8. This gigantic exercise will pave way to identify the households living below the poverty line in rural and urban areas of the country.The SECC would be carried out by the respective state governments with the financial and technical support from the Central government.In pursuance of this, the state government has issued a GO for conducting the SECC in the state from September 26 to November 8 in urban local bodies.For collecting the information by the enumerators, the government has prepared a questionnaire pertaining to religion, caste, tribe, housing and ownership status.
