BANGALORE:  Councillors demanded different investigation agencies to probe into the multi-crore scam and the recent fire accident at the Palike building, in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) council meeting on Tuesday. Prior to this, JD(S) leader Padmanabha Reddy demanded Mayor Sharadamma to reply under Section 52 of Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, for which Mayor denied. Opposing her reply, councillors from both Congress and JD(S) stormed the well of the house. House was adjourned for about                  15 minutes. Finally when the meeting resumed, Reddy was allowed to speak under section 52 of KMC. Reddy said that the former commissioner Siddaiah had told the BMTF to probe into the multi-crore scam based on TVCC report. In the meanwhile, Chief Minister handed over the investigation to Corps of Detectives (CoD).  “What is the difference between the investigation done by BMTF or COD. Both are policemen,” he asked. He also said that they do not trust the CoD as it works under the state government.Further Reddy said they want the Lokayukta to probe into the matter. “Not just the three Assembly divisions but investigation has to be done in all the 28 constituencies.” He also warned the Ruling party that if they make an attempt to close the case, they will protest. “If you are confident that there is no corrpution in your party, then handover the matter to  Lokayukta,” he challenged.Opposition leader Udayshankar said that based on TVCC report, case was given to BMTF and now CoD. “TVCC team which conducted the basic investigation found that `1,539 crore was misappropriated. Now, engineers are staging protest after their fellow engineer was arrested in this regard. It is unfortunate that the engineers are protesting and do not trust their colleague,” he said.Further, Udayshankar demanded the case should be given to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the issue for which BJP councillors raised objections. BJP councillors said that they do not trust CBI as it works under UPA government. They said that CBI is nothing but Congress Investigation of Bureau and they cannot deliver justice.Former mayor to move courtMeanwhile, former mayor M Ramachandrappa said he will move the High Court seeking its intervention to handover the case to CBI. “I am filing case as a private party,” he saidAgendas approved amidst protestWhile the Ruling party president B R Nanjundappa read out the agendas, Mayor Sharadamma approved. This is at the time, councillors from Congress and JD(S) staged protest after the Mayor had denied them to allow to speak under Section 52 of Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act.
