CBSE class 10th examination results declared

New Delhi: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of class 10th examination on Thursday, which recorded a pass percentage of 97.32, about a per cent less than last year.

The last year's pass percentage was 98.87.

The pass percentage of girls in the 2015 examination was 97.82 per cent as compared to 96.98 per cent of boys. According to a CBSE statement, Thiruvananthapuram region witnessed highest pass percentage of 99.77 in the country.

In all, 13,73,853 candidates were registered for Class X examination this year, an increase of about 3.37 per cent over that of last year.

CBSE Class X results are reflected in grades.

A total of 94,474 students scored a perfect 10 CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average), of them 49,392 were boys and 45,082 girls.

Chandigarh region fared the best with highest number of students, a total of 15,479, scoring perfect ten.

The results were delayed by about a week leading to anxiety among the students and their parents.

Under the CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) system regular candidates appeared in both Board- and School- based evaluation system.

The pass percentage of School-based evaluation system was better than that of Board-based.

A total of 6,69,721 students were registered under Board-based system out of which 6,40,255 candidates qualified the Class X examination this year, with a pass percentage of 95.60.

In School-based system, 6,96,366 candidates were registered out of which 6,42,814 qualified taking the pass percentage to 98.05.

The number of students who fell in Compartment category stood at 41,812 this year while six candidates were under unfair means.

The candidates will appear in the Improvement of Performance Test to be conducted by the Board or school in July. The Board-based improvement test will commence from July 16.

Candidates seeking verification of grades will apply to respective schools, under the School-based system. The applications of candidates in Board-based system will be submitted online only.

The Class X examination was held across the country at 41,812 schools under ten regions of CBSE, said K K Choudhary Controller of Exam.
