ANGAMALY: The three-day State Sahodaya CBSE Arts Festival, ‘Fest of the Best, began at Viswajyothi CMI Public School here on Thursday. National Award winning actor Salimkumar inaugurated the Kalotsav-2011.The arts festival is being organised by the Confederation of 16 Sahodaya Complexes in the State. As many as 7,000 students will participate in 150 events held on 23 stages on the Viswajyothi campus.K P Dhanapalan MP, P T Thomas MP, Jose Thettayil MLA, CMI provincial Fr Jose Alex Oruthayappilly, former principal Fr Joy Kilikkunnel, principal Fr Varghese Kachapilly, vice-principal Fr Sebas Attokkaran, Sahodaya president K Unnikrishnan, general secretary K A Francis, Fr Tomy Nambiyaparambil, Fr Elias Vadukkumchery, Viswajyothi PTA president Joseph Kanichayi and manager Jose Padyatty spoke on the occasion.In the Light Music competition (Category 1), Veda P of Palaghat Lions School won the first prize. Asna S T of St Mary’s Residential Central School (Alappuzha Sahodaya) won the second prize and Chaithra M of Shobhana English Medium Senior Secondary School (Idukki Sahodaya) bagged the third spot.Girideepam Bethany Central School (Kottayam Sahodaya) came first in Margam Kali (Category 4). The second place was won by Sabarigiri Residential School (Venad Sahodaya) and the third by Silver Hills Public School (Calicut Sahodaya).In Recitation Malayalam (Category 2), while Gowreesh G P of Navdeep Public School(Venad Sahodaya) won the first prize, three students - Pooja Murali of St Mary’s Senior Secondary School (Pathanamthitta Sahodaya), Nanditha of Hi Tech Public School (Vadakara Sahodaya) and Easwar Krishnan of NSS Public school (South Zone Trivandrum Sahodaya) shared the second prize. Eliza Ivan Theodore, Matha Senior Secondary School (Alappuzha Sahodaya) won the third spot in the event.In Recitation Sanskrit (Category 2), Aba, Silver Hills Public School (Calicut Sahodaya), Amal Vinod, Belmont English Medium School (Kottayam Sahodaya) and Thimothy Clement Gomez, Bishop Pereira Memorial School (Trivandrum Sahodaya) won the first, second and third prizes, respectively.Vaishnav K Sunil of Amrita Vidyalayam (Trichur sahodaya) won the first prize in Folk Dance (Girls), Category 2. Dhanu A Mano , Marian Senior Secondary School (Kottayam Sahodaya) and Poushami, SDV English Medium Higher Secondary School (Alappuzha sahodaya), won the second place. Anjusha George , Viswadeepthi Public school (Idukki sahodaya) and Devi Unnimaya, St Mary’s Residential Public School (Pathanamthitta Sahodaya) shared the third prize.In Kolkali (Boys) Category 3, MES English Senior Secondary School (Palakkad Sahodaya) won the first prize. Noble Public School (Malappuram Sahodaya) and St Ann’s Senior Secondary School (Palakkad Sahodaya) shared the second place. VNSSSN Trusts Central School (Alappuzha Sahodaya) came third in the event.
