Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s explanation of the alleged coal scam is not satisfactory and the CPM will raise the issue in the Parliament, said CPM Politburo member Sitaram Yechury.
While addressing the two-day seminar on people forum for comprehensive development here on Sunday, he said that the Union government is reportedly facing a number of scams.
Yechury said that reports on the coal scam was not satisfactory.Yechury also said fifty four billionaires are enjoying one third of GDP and 80 crore people are working hard for Rs 20 per day. “The system of food distribution and releasing fund for the food security is not proper. The Union government is keen in reducing the subsidy on food and essential commodities used by common man,” he said.
He added that the Union government should bring northeastern people back to Bangalore in a train by providing them security.
