MYSORE: District Minister SA Ramdas said on Monday that the Union and state governments are keen on training para medical and technical staff to work in hospitals, especially the labour ward.The governments are serious on providing skill-oriented training to candidates who have passed pre university college. and are working on setting up a para medical university to produce trained personnel, he added. After inaugurating the Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI) building here on Monday, he said that only 22.8 per cent engineering graduates, out of 6.25 lakh, were employable in India in the last year. Though the state produced 45,000 engineering graduates and diploma and ITI holders, there is a dearth of skilled and trained personnel. Ramadas said that RUDSETI , using funds from the Union and state governments, had contributed in producing trained personnel in this regard.Give Credit to Centre: MPFormer minister and MP H Vishwanath said that non government education institutes, religious and other institutions should give credit to the Union and state governments for training programmes.He said that training institutions should mention the financial assistance extended by government. He regretted that many institutions have not mentioned the project as Central-funded projects.
