Chennai: Four miscreants of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam who were arrested for hurling petrol bombs at posts offices at Mylapore and Mandaveli on October 29 have been charged under NSA.
Investigations had revealed that the foursome had planned to attack post offices and important Central government agencies to intimidate the Centre establishments. This was to protest against CHOGM.
The police said that the accused committed a heinous act in a public place affecting the peace and tranquillity and public order thereby creating insecurity in the minds of the public and so the Chennai police commissioner has ordered them to be charged under NSA.
They have already been charged under the Tamil Nadu PPD Act and Tamil Nadu Explosives Act.
