Chhattisgarh: Bodies of 3 Family Members Found Hanging in Closed Room in Raipur, Probe Underway
The cause behind the deaths has not been ascertained yet

In a shocking incident from Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, dead bodies of a husband, wife and their 14-year-old daughter, were found hanging in a closed room in Tikrapara area’s BSUP colony.

The police has suspected suicide as a cause behind the death of the trio.

The deceased, Lakhanlal Sen (48), his wife Ranu Sen (42) and their daughter Payal were found hanging from a hook, used to hang ceiling fans, with a rope inside a room in their home on Thursday late evening, a police official said.

He also added that neighbours alerted the police about a foul smell was found emanating from their house. Following the lead from them, the police broke open the door and found the bodies.

While sharing primary details from the crime scene, Tikrapara Traffic Inspector Durgesh Raute told ANI, “Police have found the dead bodies of three people of the same family, husband, wife and girl, hanging from the noose. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.”

As per officials, prima facie it seems that the three of them hanged themselves two-three days back. However, no suicide note was recovered from the spot and the police further said that the exact details of the matter will be known after the arrival of post-mortem report and further investigation.

A case has been registered and a probe is currently underway, the official added.
