Doha: SSP Chowrasia rounded of the Qatar Masters, the second leg of the three-week Middle East swing on the European tour, with a even par 72 to finish tied 49th. Chowrasia, tied 17th at the Abu Dhabi Open, ended with a week's effort of four-under 284 with rounds of 70, 73, 69 and 72.

"It has been a modest start, though both weeks I felt I could have done much better. I have been hitting alright, but I need to close in with better putting," said Chowrasia, whose short game is his strength.

The two-time winner on European Tour, Chowrasia was the lone Indian to make the cut in the first two events in the Middle East. At Abu Dhabi, Jeev Milkha Singh and Gaganjeet Bhullar missed the cut and in Qatar, Jeev missed out again. Chowrasia now moves to Dubai for the final leg of the Desert Swing.

"I will then go to South Africa for two weeks before coming to India," added Chowrasia.

Up at the top, George Coetzee was fighting with Sergio Garcia and Chris Wood for the title. Coetzee was 16-under with two holes to play, while Garcia and Wood were 15-under with three and five holes to play.

Asian star Thongchai Jaidee landed his third successive top-10 of the year with a sixth place after a final round of 68 and finished at 11-under 277. He was third at Volvo Champions and ninth last week in Abu Dhabi.
