CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the State government to obtain clarifications on payment of bonus to the employees of the TN Housing Board, which was pending for over a decade with the Union Ministry of Labour.Till then, the TNHB should not recover the advance amount of ` 3,000 from the retirement benefits of employees, a division bench comprising Justices Elipe Dharma Rao and M Venugopal said.The bench was disposing of two writ appeals from TNHB Labour Progressive Union, represented by its general secretary ‘Poochi’ S Murugan.The bench said that unless and until a clarification was issued by the Union Ministry, the issue of payment of bonus for 1998-99 and recovery of the advance amount paid, could not be decided.
