CHENNAI: This indeed is the most crucial time of the year for Class 12 students as they prepare themselves for board examinations. With their heads bent down, they scribbled in their notebooks. This wasn’t any exam, but a programme held for them to interact with teachers and clear their doubts and get rid of their anxiety as their board exams are fast approaching.More than 2,000 students from 18 schools in areas like Chepauk and Triplicane attended the programme, held at the Muslim Higher Secondary School in Triplicane and recieved tops on how to effectively score maximum marks. The topics covered included presentation of answers, time management and important portions.Science subjects were covered in the morning, with teachers of biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics addressing the students. Students of other disciplines attended similar sessions in the afternoon. Presentations listing the important things to remember during the exams were also made.Organised by Councillor of Ward 114 and Town Planning Chairman SMK Mogamed Ali Jinnah, the programme was held as part of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s birthday celebrations. “We want the students to perform well. We have provided them a booklet with the pattern of question paper, important questions and other pointers which will be of help to them for the exams,” he said.Students welcomed the move, saying it would help them in their preparations. Hameeda, a science student from a Chepauk school, said, “If I had stayed at home, I would have wasted a lot of time by studying irrelevant topics. Attending this programme was really helpful as I have learnt what to concentrate on and the tips on how to present the paper were also very useful.”
