Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, suspended for his criticism of top leaders.
New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday suspended Lok Sabha MP Kuldeep Bishnoi from its primary membership for “anti-party activities”.
Bishnoi, son of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, was in June 2006 served a show-cause notice for making public a letter to party President Sonia Gandhi in which he accused the Congress government in Haryana of corruption.
Defence Minister A K Antony, who heads the party's disciplinary action committee, served Bishnoi the suspension order.
Bishnoi has alleged that Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is harming the state’s farmers by promoting special economic zones.
Bishnoi had recently criticised Sonia for not visiting Panipat, where the Samjhauta Express tragedy took place.
