BANGALORE: Expressing apprehension that the state BJP government led by D V Sadananda Gowda may not act against the leaders indicted by Lokayukta, including former chief minister Yeddyurappa and four others. Opposition leader Sidharamaiah has convened a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party on August 23 to discuss the issue.Addressing party workers at the Congress Nadige Janara Balige on Sunday, Sidharamaiah alleged that the BJP government seems to have decided to give a decent burial to the Lokayukta report without initiating any action against the culprits. The induction of V Somanna into the Cabinet, whose sons are directly involved in the illegal mining case, is an indication of the government’s intentions on the issue, the Congress leader said. “Somanna is fully accountable for the misdeeds of his family members and the CM should sack him immediately. Even a ruling BJP legislator has aired his views against the induction of Somanna,” he said and warned the government against any move to protect the tainted public servants.
