BANGALORE: A formal notice of intimation on convening the session of the state Legislative Council has been sent to Chanchalguda Jail Superintendent in Hyderabad, to be communicated to former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy who has been incarcerated there on charges of illegal mining.Official sources said the notice has been sent to the jail superintendent with a request to communicate to Reddy, who is still a member of the Council, on holding the 10-day session, which will begin on Monday. In December last, the Council secretariat had sent a similar notice to the jail, intimating the sitting of the house, though Reddy did not attend it. It may be noted that the CBI, which has registered a case against Reddy for his alleged involvement in illegal mining, has remanded him in judicial custody in the Hyderabad jail.Prohibitory Orders in SoudhaProhibitory orders have been clamped around Vidhana Soudha from 6 am on January 30 till February 10 in view of the commencement of the state Legislature session. Bangalore Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji was stated in a release: “No public gatherings or protests can be held in a two-km radius around Vidhana Soudha, except on February 4 and 5, till session ends.”
