Court refuses settlement in torture case

ALAPPUZHA: The Alappuzha Chief Judicial Court on Friday refused settlement in the Punnapra Prakasan custodial torture case in which former Kannur IG Tomin J Thachankary is involved. Judge P Ragini clearly mentioned that the  case would be disposed of only after conducting trial.Prakasan had submitted an affidavit to settle the case through a counsel. But, the court asked him to be present at the court on November 18. Meanwhile, Boby Kuruvilla of Karuvelithara House,  Mithrakary, has filed an impleading petition in the court, seeking not to settle the case outside the court.
