New Delhi: The private news channel which had carried out a sting operation earlier this week to establish a collusion between the prosecution and the defence in the sensational BMW case, placed a CD containing the unedited video of the entire operation before a Delhi court on Friday.
The material was submitted at the chamber of Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar by the channel's Managing Editor along with the reporter involved in the sting operation and two other administrative officials. They were accompanied by three lawyers.
The proceedings that took place inside the chamber lasted over two-and-a-half hours and the judge watched the whole unedited CD. Key witness Sunil Kulkarni and the investigating officer were also present at the ASJ's chamber.
On Thursday, the judge had directed the TV channel and the reporters involved in the sting operation to appear before him with un-edited copies of the CD or tape.
The sting operation showed senior advocate RK Anand, who is defending the main accused Sanjeev Nanda, and I U Khan, who was dropped as Special Public Prosecutor, allegedly trying to influence Kulkarni.
Sanjeev Nanda, grandson of former Navy Chief S M Nanda, is the prime accused in the infamous BMW hit-and-run case in which Nanda's car had mowed down six people eight years ago.
