Dalmiya agrees to appear before BCCI
Dalmiya says he will appear before BCCI if he was given all documents relating to the misappropriation of funds.

Kolkata: Former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya on Tuesday agreed to appear before the board's Disciplinary Committee provided he was given all the documents relating to alleged misappropriation of funds against him.

Making a submission before the chief judge of the City Civil Court here Dalmiya's counsel said that his client has no objection in appearing before the Disciplinary Committee if provided with all the necessary documents with regard to PILCOM (Pakistan India Lanka Committee for 1996 World Cup) accounts.

Subsequently, both the lawyers of Dalmiya and those of BCCI agreed with the judge that the documents would be provided to Dalmiya within seven days and the former BCCI president would give his reply in another ten days.

The Disciplinary Committee would then fix a date for Dalmiya's appearence before it in another seven days, to which the two parties agreed.

The court's order in the matter is awaited.

BCCI had earlier suspended Dalmiya pending inquiry by the Disciplinary Committee into allegations of financial irregularities against him and asked Dalmiya to appear before the committee on August 15.

Dalmiya, however, had moved court which had directed the board on August 10 to postpone the meeting till Sugust 22 when the court would take up the matter.
