Kolkata: Deepa Dasmunshi, Congress legislator and wife of central minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi, was fired upon by unidentified miscreants on Tuesday evening during a by-election campaign but she escaped unhurt.
Police said Deepa Dasmunshi, who is a legislator from Goalpukhar constituency in Uttar Dinajpur district, was campaigning for party candidate Hamidur Rahman from Islampur in the district, when some miscreants fired on their car.
Police said Deepa Dasmunshi escaped unhurt but the bullets hit her car.
