Decomposed bodies of a couple found in Moradabad

Two bodies of a young man and woman, believed to be a couple, were recovered in a decomposed state from village Bibipur in the district, the police said on Wednesday.

According to police, Nafees, a local farmer in the village found half-buried decomposed body of a woman late last night in his field. Nafees called on the villagers, who dug the field and recovered one more dead body of a man, next to the woman's dead body.

Both the dead bodies were in a highly decomposed state and their faces were unrecognisable, they said, adding that they could only recover a slip bearing a phone number from the bodies. DIG, Moradabad range, Gulab Singh, said that from the phone number only the fact was ascertained that the bodies belonged to Kashipur area in District Udham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand.

Both the bodies were sent for post-mortem and an FIR would be lodged once the identities of the youth couple is established, he said.
