Police said that victim's mother was not at home when the incident took place on Saturday morning.
New Delhi: A 33-year-old man was arrested in Delhi for raping his 10-year-old step-daughter, police said on Tuesday. "The victim's mother, who lives in Majnu Ka Tila area in north Delhi, approached police on Saturday and said that her daughter was raped by her husband," said an officer.
A medical examination of the victim confirmed rape. Police said that victim's mother, a labourer, was not at home when the incident took place on Saturday morning. The victim told her mother when she returned.
The accused, who is unemployed, used to drink regularly, police said.
