Decks have been cleared for the running of a double-decker train between Habibganj and Indore, railway sources said in Bhopal.
Commissioner of Railway Safety (Central Circle), Chetan Baksh cleared the proposal for the double-decker train on Tuesday evening, they said.
The train is expected to run within a week as all the necessary clearances have been issued. The trial run of the train was conducted on April 13 but the Commissioner of Railway Safety was not satisfied with trial report sent to him by the Bhopal Railway Division of West Central Railway (WCR).
He had asked the railway administration to ensure several safety measures including raising platform shed height at all the stations through which it had to pass, they said.
"Now all the hurdles have been cleared for smooth running of the train following which Baksh provided clearance to the running of the double-decker train," sources said. Baskh suggested to the WCR that the train should run at an optimum speed of 75 km ph, they said.
