Duo held for cheating jobless youth

HYDERABAD: Two partners of a hotel in Banjara Hills and who were on the run for the past two months, were nabbed on Friday for cheating several unemployed youth to a tune of Rs 70 lakh in the name of providing jobs in a hotel they own in Dubai.The nabbed duo - Syed Kaleemullah Hussaini alias Waseem of Malakpet and Zeena Suzen Varkey alias Zareen Fatima of Banjara Hills were business partners in Gazebo International Hotel at Road No 12, Banjara Hills.“Claiming that they also run Grand Palace Hotel in Dubai, the duo lured unemployed youth promising them jobs in Dubai hotel," Task Force West Zone inspector J Narasaiah said.They collected Rs 70 lakh from nearly 150 youth in one year and also collected their passports and gave fake appointment letters. Waseem's uncle, Syed Majeedullah alias Majeed, who is the manager of the Gazebo International Hotel was also part of the plan.“As the duo failed to provide jobs, the aspirants demanded their money and passports back but were threatened with dire consequences," cops said.The victims approached the Banjara Hills police in August and Majeed was arrested but the duo fled. Task Force sleuths nabbed them on Friday and seized several passports, rubber stamps, debit cards, UAE Gate Card, cheque books of various banks, UAE tourist entry permit of Zareen Fatima and a Chevrolet car from them.
