The programme will feature songs composed and set to tune by teachers and students. “This came about as a creative outlet for students who are encompassed into their academic routine. The music concert is not just for entertainment but addresses issues which face the nation and the young adults in particular,” said Subhash Kumar, a member of the Democratic Students Front at EFLU. The compositions include a number titled Modern Gorakhdhandha based on the recent CAG report on coalgate as well as a song dedicated to the violence perpetrated in Assam.The recent suicide of a student from IIT Kanpur and the role of social and academic pressure which drives students to desperate measures is also the subject of a composition. Three faculty members and an equal number of students have been instrumental in composing the songs and will share stage-space at the concert.
