BANGALORE: A 22-year-old mechanical engineering student of Dr B R Ambedkar Engineering College committed suicide by hanging in his room at Adichunchanagiri Mutt Hostel in Vijayanagar on Monday. It is suspected that fear of examination could be the reason for the suicide.The deceased has been identified as R H Devaraju, a native of Mandya.According to the police, Devaraju was staying with his friends in the room of the mutt. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan and it is suspected that he committed suicide between 11.45 am and 12.45 pm when nobody was present in the room.Though the exact reason is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he had a fear of failing in his semester examinations. He reportedly had suicidal tendency.Labourer found deadA 22-year-old daily wage worker was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the cellar of an under-construction building where he was working.The incident took place on Dinnur Main Road in R T Nagar police station limits on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Girish, a native of Yadgir district. He was working as a labourer in the building that was planned for a residential commercial complex from last two months.According to the police, a fire broke out in the building on Sunday night and its owner found Girish burnt in the incident.However, they have not ruled out the possibility of a murder and are awaiting for the postmortem report to find the exact reason for the death. R T Nagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
