Essar worker dies sans treatment

KEONJHAR: Tension gripped the under construction Essar Steel Company at  Dubuna under Bamebari police limits on Friday when a contractual labour died due to alleged negligence of the security personnel.Identified as Asadhu Majhi of Uparpanga village under Mahulapatana police limits in Kalahandi district, the worker complained of stomach pain on Thursday night and fell unconscious.Though he had to be rushed to a hospital, the security personnel at the main gate did not allow them to leave the company site without the authorities’ consent. Asadhu died there, following which the irate labourers burnt machineries and company’s vehicles.Bamebari police and fire brigade team brought the situation under control.
