In a complaint, registered at the Kadakkal police station, Anil, a differently-abled man said that though he wanted to get married, he was not getting support

The Kerala Police on Wednesday received a bizarre complaint from a 32-year-old man in Kollam district. Anil John wanted the help of police to assist him in finding a bride after he didn’t get any support from friends and relatives.

In a complaint, registered at the Kadakkal police station, Anil, a differently-abled man said that though he wanted to get married, he was not getting support.

Hence, he sought the help of the police to get him a bride. According to the petition, the resident of Mannur is ready to marry any girl, even if she is from an orphanage.

Anil John, who has a slight visual impairment in one eye, has been living alone ever since his parents died. He makes a living out of wages from MGNREGA, daily distribution of newspapers and by selling lottery tickets.

He approached the police after no one took the initiative even though he requested his relatives, church members and other natives to arrange a marriage for him several times.

According to the police, an initial investigation confirmed that the complaint was true. However, the cops could not do anything beyond conveying the matter to brokers and others. However, the young man is pinning hopes that the police will help him to find a bride and get married.
