HYDERABAD: A three-member committee on Wednesday quizzed the members of Filmnagar Cooperative Housing Society (FCHS) over the alleged irregularities amounting to Rs 100 crore in allotment of land to ineligible persons over the past few years. The officials' team led by Ranga Reddy district cooperative officer Bhaskara Chary visited the Housing Society office on Monday and Wednesday to probe the allegations. Apart from seizing certain documents, they also questioned around 30 persons including members of the Housing Society.Source said that the infighting between rival groups of the FCHS for supremacy over land transactions worth crores of rupees has reached its peak. One group complained against the rival group with the Ranga Reddy district officials alleging irregularities in allocation of land to ineligible persons who do not belong to the film industry."About 80 per cent of the beneficiaries are not from the film industry but members in the governing body of the society gave away land in a brazen manner and filled their pockets. Thus, they denied land to eligible persons who are still struggling for a permanent shelter," alleged one of the members. The FCHS was formed around three decades ago to facilitate shifting of the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. The state government sanctioned about 91.5 acre land in Jubilee Hills to the society to be allocated to the members from the film industry.
