Finance collector robbed of Rs 99k

BNAGALORE: A finance collector was robbed of `99,000 by two unidentified miscreants. The incident was reported near Dhobi Ghat on Old Madras Road in Halasur police station limits on Monday night.Maruti (33), a resident of Kaverinagar in Mahadevapura, has been identified as the victim. He works at V B Associates, a finance company located in Sheshadripuram. According to the police, the victim, after collecting finance money, was going near Dhobi Ghat on a moped at around 8.45pm. Two unidentified miscreants came from behind on a bike and asked him to stop his vehicle. When Maruti stopped his moped, the miscreants threw chilly powder into his eyes and snatched the bag which had money and sped away.The police have suspected that persons who knew about Maruti’s movements could be behind the incident. Maruti has filed a case in Halasur police station in this connection and further investigations are on.
