HYDERABAD: PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said he will announce in a few days the first list of those appointed president of the district Congress committees after consultations with chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said that after taking permission from AICC general secretary in-charge of state party affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad he completed the exercise of selecting new DCC presidents and would release the list very soon. He will also reconstitute new PCC executive committee very soon.The PCC chief said the Congress high command had taken a tough stand on the supporters of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who were still continuing in the party. As part of that, the party decided to file disqualification petitions against three MLCs Konda Murali, Pulla Padmavati, SV Mohan Reddy who were openly supporting Jagan Mohan Reddy and were resorting to anti-party activities. The Congress was exploring legal options on taking action against Prabhakar who was nominated as MLC under the governor’s quota.With regard to by-elections, he said the PCC would release the first list of candidates in about a week after obtaining approval of the party high command.The PCC president dropped enough hints on erstwhile PRP president K Chiranjeevi’s political future, saying the Tirupati MLA may be inducted into the Union cabinet after the Rajya Sabha elections which are scheduled to take place in March. Several Congress leaders said that only after the completion of Rajya Sabha elections would the prime minister expand his cabinet, probably during the next budget session.The PCC president spoke with the chief secretary and the director-general of ACB, and urged them to disclose politicians’ links with liquor syndicates and involvement in the liquor business all over the state. He said officials should clear the air in the wake of allegations by a section of the media that some politicians had links with liquor syndicates.
