The ‘flash mob’ fever is finally catching up with Bangalore city. The youth wing of Art of Living YES+ (Youth Empowerment and Skill) was brimming with energy on the streets while moving to the tunes of Jai Ho and Rang De basanthi and a bhajan. Their motive?“We need to tell the youth that meditation is cool and we are inviting them for it,” said Mansai Dharmraj, one of the organiser.The flash mob was organised as a part of the Maha Satsang and Meditation with Sri Sri Ravishankar, who will be in the city on February 13. “A flash mob and meditation is something the youth woudn’t mention in one sentence. Their energy is scattered and it is best to meditate to nurture this energy, ” said Gunjan Arora.The flash mob is the brain child of Gunjan, a young techie from Infosys,who is dedicated to the cause of attracting the youth to the world of meditation.200 youngsters , all from the Art of Living YES+ joined the flash mob. Their first location was the Kamanahalli Circlewhere the crowd watched them in awe and some even joined them.The team initially had a tough time with the authority. “We had to show the police videos of flash mob so that they get the idea, ”said Dr Hema, from the organising team. The youngsters,mostly students, couldn’t contain their excitement.“This is a million dollar experience, ” said a bunch of girls who couldn’t stop dancing. The YES+ team flash mob has one motto ‘celebrate life,celebrate meditation,celebrate knowledge’ and this they want to spread amongst the young and the old alike.
