New Delhi: Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf escaped a bid on his life early on Thursday in Faizabad, Pakistan. The retired General was being shifted from a hospital to his farmhouse in Islamabad when a huge blast occurred at a bridge in Faizabad just as his convoy passed.
According to sources, almost four to six kilograms of explosive material was planted in a pipeline near the footpath.
The police claimed that the attack was aimed at targeting the former president.
A spokesman of the former president told CNN-IBN that the motorcade's jammers may have temporarily disabled the trigger of the bomb, helping Musharraf escape the blast.
