Four Arrested After Over 30 Mobile Phones Stolen During Alan Walker's Kochi Concert
Over 39 mobile phones were stolen during a concern by DJ Alan Walker in Kochi earlier this month. The police arrested four people.

Four people belonging to two separate gangs were arrested in connection with the mobile theft incident during the Alan Walker concert in Kochi on October 6, City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya has said. The SIT, constituted to probe the case, arrested two of them from the national capital and two from Mumbai.

Atiq Ur Rahman and Waseem Ahmmed were arrested from a house in Delhi’s Daryaganj while Sunny Bolo Yadav and Shyam Talwar were apprehended from Thane.

Those arrested from Delhi were history sheeters who were previously involved in theft and other activities, the police said.

The police also recovered 20 mobile phones from the Delhi gang and 3 from the Mumbai group. At least 39 mobile phones were stolen from the crowd present at the show.

HOW DID THE POLICE FIND OUT?

The police launched an investigation into the matter following complaints from those who lost their phones. The police detected the presence of some of the lost phones in Mumbai and Delhi and thus extended their investigation to other states.

The police nabbed the Delhi gang after identifying that one of them who was also involved in a similar case in Bengaluru previously was present in Kochi during the show.

SIMILAR INCIDENT IN PUNE

A similar incident was reported in Pune where at least 36 mobile phones belonging to the attendees were stolen during a show by DJ Alan Walker at New English Phoenix School Ground in Kharadi on October 18.

Those arrested were identified as Sayyed Mohammad Idrees Shaikh, Akhil Venkatramana Godavari, Lokesh Hanumant Pujari, and Pappu Bhagirathi Vaishya.
