HYDERABAD: Four persons who were preparing fake documents for securing different kinds of visas at foreign consulates were nabbed by Task Force sleuths on Sunday. The arrested include N Vishnu Kumar, who runs the M/s Universal Consultancy Services at Padmarao Nagar and his partner, K Narayana Venugopal. According to police, the duo started the consultancy company in 2007 based on their experience of visiting US during 2003-2004. “The duo initially used to prepare genuine documents like property valuation reports and notary affidavits for those who visit foreign countries. However, with them not earning a good income from their work, they decided to prepare fake documents for those who wanted to go abroad on various categories of visas,” police said. The duo prepared fake letter heads in the name of different fictitious firms and secured fake rubber stamps with help of their office assistant, B Ravi Shankar and a rubber stamp maker B Krishna Murthy. Police said the accused were charging `5,000 to `10,000 to prepare fake documents. Their clients are submitting the same in consulates at the time of interviews to get a visa,” police said. The fake documents racket was busted after sleuths got information that a woman from Padmaraonagar, Chitra Bogadala, appeared for an interview at the US consulate recently by presenting fake documents. Investigating into the case, police nabbed the four accused and seized several fake documents and rubber stamps. Chitra is absconding.“They are also collecting `2 to `3 lakh from an applicant who managed to secure a visit visa to the US. Till now, more than 30 candidates succeeded in securing a visit visa,” a police official said.
