BANGALORE: Four persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city.Manikandan Aiyer, 34, a resident of Alpine Apartments in Chinnappanahalli was killed on the spot after his car rammed into a cement mixer lorry which as parked on the road. The incident was reported near Salem railway bridge on Mahadevapura ring road  on Sunday. The deceased was a consultant at a private firm in Jakkur. The incident occurred while he was returning home, said K R Puram traffic police, who have registered a case said.In another incident, Jayendra, 20, a cook,  was killed on the spot after he was hit by a lorry in Rajagopalanagar police station limits on Sunday night.Jayendra was on the way back to his house when a lorry that was taking a reverse turn hit him. He succumbed while being taken to the hospital. Peenya traffic police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the lorry driver.In another incident in the same police limits, Y R Basavaraju, 26, a resident of Madanayakanahalli, on the outskirts of the city, was killed after an unidentified vehicle knocked him down. He was a driver at a private dairy. The police said that Basavaraju, on Monday morning, parked his goods vehicle near Widia factory on Tumkur Road and had got down. While he was walking, an unidentified vehicle knocked him down and sped away, sources said. Basavaraju sustained fatal injuries and was killed on the spot. In another incident reported on Hebbal fly-over on Monday, Girish, was killed on the spot after a tipper lorry hit his bike from behind. Hebbal traffic police have registered a case and are on the look out for the lorry driver, who fled soon after the incident.
